V Reasons Why The Goofy Movie has the Best Food

V Reasons Why the Goofy Movie has the Best Food

Many of us can appreciate a simpler time when chips were 4/$1, Michael Jordan was the undisputed king of basketball, and Disney made excellent movies. One of my personal Disney favorites, The Goofy Movie comes from this time. The Goofy Movie, (1995) has everything a die-hard Disney fan could ever want in a movie, a catchy, memorable soundtrack, humorous characters, a celebrity in the cast, and delicious looking food. This is V Reasons Why The Goofy Movie has the most visually attractive food.

Reason 1: Cheddar Whizzies

The first featured food from The Goofy Movie is the can of spray cheese that Bobby, the protagonist's (Max) best friend, uses to create the iconic "Leaning Tower of Cheeza". This can of cheese made every child from LA to London want to buy a can of spray cheese and make a cheese tower of their own creation. I, for one, was one of these kids. When I finally succeeded in convincing my dad to buy a can, I took it home, sprayed out a lopsided column of cheese, and was for the most part satisfied with my work. Then, in the same Bobby-fashion, shoved the mass of cheese into my mouth, anticipating the delicious flavorful “Cheddar Whizzies, (AWOOOOOOO!!!!!!)” I had envisioned. Sadly, the canned cheese tasted nothing like the way I imagined the movie cheese to, to say the least, and therefore stayed in our cabinet, untouched until my next “Leaning Tower of Cheeza” attempt.

Reason 2: Diner Breakfast

The second food I’m highlighting is the breakfast Max and his dad, Goofy, ate at a diner during their road trip to Lake Destiny, Idaho. Max’s plate held smiling sunny side up eggs and bacon while Goofy had a very tall “short stack” of pancakes deliciously drenched in what was probably a gallon of syrup. I, myself, don’t care to have my eggs cooked sunny-side-up, but the Goofy movie made the eggs look like they would be the best tasting batch of eggs I had ever eaten and the bacon looked perfect: crisp and salty. As for Goofy’s pancakes, there were probably fifteen in the stack and it appeared that he ate twelve of them in one bite! I have the same mindset as Goofy when it comes to pancakes; drown them in syrup and the more the better!

Reason 3: Amusement Park Junk food

The third is the tray of junk food Max brings Goofy while they spend a day at an amusement park. On the tray of food is a drink large enough to rival the gigantic box of french fries sitting next to it for the title of “biggest amusement park container”. The ketchup-drenched fries are neighbors with a chili dog so long it extends over the edge of the tray. And lastly, the most scrumptious of all, the tortilla chips swimming in a pool of nacho cheese. Oh my goodness, I would be in nacho heaven if I ever ate a container of nachos with that much cheesy goodness. (And unlike the Cheddar Whizzies, this would be gone in minutes.)

Reason 4: Hi Dad Soup

The fourth food in the spotlight is the heart wrenching “Hi Dad Soup”. This adorable Disney favorite comes from Goofy who would lovingly make a special soup for his son, Max, when he was a little kid. As the noodles in the soup were alphabet-shaped, Max would organize the noodles to spell out the words “HI DAD”. I know, it’s soooo cute, isn’t it?

Reason 5: Motel Pizza

The final food is most definitely the one everyone who has ever watched The Goofy Movie covets: the motel pizza. (I'm getting hungry just thinking about it). The cheese stretches a mile and oozes when PJ picks it up out of the box. Then, when he’s holding it in his hand you can practically smell the melted cheese, the crispy pepperonis, and the mouthwatering crust as if you had just purchased a pizza of your own to enjoy solely for watching this scene… not that I have ever done that before.
